Realy only one season sailing a 19' Hunter. No racing experience. Learned sailing at the American Sailing Institute. 36 year old male in good shape(a small gut from beer but otherwise in decent shape) Smart and a fast learner. Just want to learn the sport. Plan on buying a boat to race in the future(hopefully). My main goal is to do the Mackinac. Willing to help out in anyway. I am a laid off sheet metal worker so welding and metal work is no problem. Just looking for an opportunity, willing to do what it takes. Thank you for any help.

ForeDeck on Turn the Page Larry Walter's O'Day. We won the 2007 Port Huron to Mackinack Cruising C. I need to tune up before the race. I live in Mt. Clemens and can be a last minute "bench" player. Thanks, J.T.

I started last fall as a guest on a few sailboats in the area. My son and I joined Sea scouts up in Port Huron. They have a "lets go sailing" class. We are currently going to Tuesday classes again for 6 weeks. They are teaching us to work all stations. I am very willing to learn and a quick learner. I am at this time available for Wednesdays. I would like to pick up a Thursday or Friday race. I work at a hospital and I can put in my request that I am not scheduled a 12 hour shift for the Thursday or Friday, but not guaranteed all the time. I would still dearly stress the importance that I need it off all the time for either the Thursday or Friday. I don't mind doing work on the boat either, we do it for the sea scouts too!

I have sailed off and on for a few years here and in Florida but really want to become a better sailer and race. I just love sailing!

I've been a sailor and boat owner since 1987. I've skippered and crewed on more than fifteen Pt. Huron/Chicago to Mackinac races. I've raced extensively on Anchor Bay and would like to work with a group of novice sailors, teaching racing on a JAM boat, 30 feet or larger. I'd also be available for crew on an asymmetrical boat.

Have raced in Saginaw Bay/Lake Huron for over 11 years. Owner/skipper on a Beneteau First 42, Beneteau Farr(Platu) 25, and currently a Beneteau First Class 10. Also have a lot of experience(s) on a Catalina 38 (main, trimmer, pit) and J35 (pit, spinnaker trimmer). I will be moving to the Anchor Bay/Lake St. Clair area (hopefully by end of spring) but my sailboat will remain in Saginaw Bay until the fall of 2008. I work a mean pit (my favorite position) and am good at coaching others and keeping the boat AND the crew 'in the groove' on the racecourse. Check out my (not-so-up-to-date) blogsite at http://www.phrfection.blogspot.com/ Once settled in, will need boat to crew on one or two weekdays (Tuesday or Wednesday best) remainder of this season. Weekends reserved for Saginaw Bay racing as I am on the sailing committee and have to facilitate/organize some of the weekend races/events. Until the move though, every other Friday I will be in the area and would love to catch a ride! _/)
